The previous notice of 04 October 2013 stated that the A724 Hamilton Road would be closed from Monday 11 Oct to Friday 15 Oct, however in an effort to minimize disruption the following traffic management programme has been devised.

The works will take place from a point just east of Manse Brae to the entrance to Bardykes Chemicals and are expected to last from Tuesday, November 12 until Sunday, November 17.

From Tuesday 12th until Friday 15th the road will remain open, with traffic signals and a slow moving convoy in operation.  Unfortunately, significant delays are expected during this phase of the works and we would encourage drivers to leave additional time for their journey and seek alternative routes where possible.    

A full road closure will be in place over the weekend of the 16th and 17th November with a signed diversion route in place via East Kilbride using the A749 and A725.

A press release will follow and residents who are directly affected will be separately notified.  Large electronic variable message signs will also be deployed in advance of the works to convey details to the wider public.
