We have been advised by South Lanarkshire Council that the A724 road between Blantyre Farm Road and Hallside Boulevard will be closed between Monday 11 November and Friday 15 November.

This section of road is used by First Glasgow bus services 263 (every 30 minutes ) and 267 (every 10 minutes)

The alternative route is to operate via Whirlies roundabout which adds around 4 miles for each journey

Firstbus have approached SLC to maintain access for bus services but have been advised that this is not possible

Accordingly as they cannot accommodate the considerable additional travel time in their schedules so are now planning to suspend the operation of services 263 and 267 between Blantyre West End, Halfway, Cambuslang, Rutherglen or Bridgeton and Glasgow when the road is closed

First Bus " This is not a position that we have taken lightly in view of the considerable adverse affect on customers in Blantyre, Halfway, Cambuslang and Rutherglen but we are not able to sustain the additional time incurred. We will be advising our customers accordingly"
